Since completion of its modern nitric acid manufacturing facility in 1991, Hanwha has become the most competitive player in the nitric acid market in Korea. Hanwha has supplied high quality grades of nitric acid to many customers in Korea as well as Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries.
Hanwha has entered into many mid to long term supply contracts to ensure the reliable supplies of nitric acid to its customers. Hanwha has also been expanding its chemicals business into overseas markets.

2005: 2005 Relocation of nitric acid plant from Incheon to Onsan, Korea.
Making long term contracts with the major customers in Korea and overseas.
1995: Being the first nitric acid manufacturer in Korea registered to ISO 9002 standards. Began exporting sulphonitric acid (Mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid)
1991: Started nitric acid production in Incheon plant. (Production capacity: 100,000 tons of dilute nitric acid and 40,000 tons of concentrated nitric acid based on 100% capacity output per annum).

Hanwha��s dilute nitric acid is used for polyurethanes, ammonium nitrate, concentrated nitric acid, etc and in the smelting facto-
ries. It is also used in manufacturing pigments for paint, ink, cosm-
etics, etc and dyes for textiles.

Making a significant contribution to improvement of air environment

The main uses of Hanwha��s ammonia are the raw materials of fertilizers, caprolactam, nitric acid, refrigerants, etc. It is also supplied to the De-NOx facilities of major thermal power plants in Korea
